The Jubilee line opened in 1979, it is the newest line on the network. Extended in 1999 to Stratford station in east London. The later stations are large and have special safety features, both aspects being attempts to future-proof the line. The line is currently the third busiest on the network; 13 of the 27 stations served are below ground.
- It is coloured silver/grey on the Tube map, to mark the Silver Jubilee of Elizabeth II (1977) after which the line was named.
- This line is the only one to connect with all the other Underground Lines.
